In an effort to “redefine the boundaries” of traditional denim in 2024 while championing eco-conscious practices, Twin Dragon Marketing Inc. (TDMI) is ramping up its sustainable innovations starting with the launch of its Cashmere Denim collection.

Released earlier this year, the Cashmere Denim collection is made from 100 percent recycled polyester fibers with a dtex (a direct measure of linear density) finer than cashmere, offering a “luxurious, plush texture,” according to Stephanie Poon, director of marketing and merchandising at TDMI. While it’s not actually made of cashmere wool, it has the softness and comfort of the popular fiber but in denim form. Additionally, its anti-see-through feature ensures confidence and modesty for white garments, while built-in ultraviolet (UV) protection, wicking and cooling properties provide ease even in warmer weather.

“The ethos of Cashmere Denim extends beyond mere aesthetics,” said Poon. “With its moisture-wicking and cooling attributes, wearers can revel in both comfort and style even through summer season, regardless of the occasion.”

Sustainability at its core
What sets Cashmere Denim apart is its commitment to sustainability, Poon noted. As an extension of the mill’s AtmoS concept, a collection dedicated to utilizing innovative recycled fibers, Cashmere Denim embodies the principle of responsible fashion. Crafted from a mixture of cotton, recycled polyester and spandex—depending on the specific item—it not only reduces environmental impact but also offers durability that “withstands the test of time.”

“AtmoS was our first performance collection we introduced using advanced Japanese recycled polyester fiber with a special structure that has a soft hand feel along with wicking and heat retention attributes,” Poon said. “Our Cashmere Denim collection adds to this concept, as it uses fully recycled poly fiber from the same manufacturer with phenomenal performance features but with a different fiber shape lending to an even more luxurious hand.”

For the environmentally-conscious consumer, Cashmere Denim presents a “guilt-free indulgence.” Its wicking properties make it a versatile choice for all seasons and occasions, from daytime errands to evening outings.
